Microdermabrasion – Reveal Fresh, Glowing Skin

Microdermabrasion

microdermabrasion is great for all skin types. If clients are suffering from spots, acne or blemishes, pigmentation issues, dull skin, or fine lines and wrinkles, then Microdermabrasion can help.

How does microdermabrasion work

Start by cleansing the skin using a gel or foaming cleanser. Then a fine jet of tiny exfoliating crystals is worked methodically over the skin. The crystals loosen the dead skin and dirt and a vacuum action sucks away the crystals and dead skin and stimulates blood flow. You can go back and target any areas that need more work; fine lines, congestion, and pigmentation for example. Then remove any residue of crystal from the skin. You can also carry out a luxury version of the treatment, adding either a mask or massage, or both! Lastly, moisturizer and SPF are applied to protect the skin.

Skin needs some help

Although our skin does slough away old dead skin cells to some degree, it doesn’t happen as well as it could. Dead skin cells can become trapped in the pores by excess oil. Makeup and pollution particles also get ‘stuck’, resulting in oxidative stress. Which all means a less-than-clear complexion and aging skin.

Exfoliates

Microdermabrasion is an effective way to exfoliate the skin without damaging the skin. It is more intense than at-home exfoliators but without ‘scrubbing’ the skin. The course of treatment recommended will depend on the client’s skin concerns. During a course, the intensity of treatment can increase week by week. This gradual increase helps to reach deeper layers of the skin each time. The client’s skin will begin to look more radiant, clear, and blemish-free.

Rejuvenates

The vacuum action of the Microdermabrasion treatment isn’t just to clear away the crystals. It also has an amazing effect on the skin. The vacuum action stimulates microcirculation within the skin, which promotes collagen production to keep the skin plump and firm.

Stimulates cell renewal

As we age, everything slows down, our skin included. Old cells stick around for longer and replacing cells takes longer. With regular treatments, Microdermabrasion works to remove these old cells more quickly. MD removes more dead skin cells than the skin can by itself and prompts it to make more skin cells. The treatment stimulates the skin’s cell renewal processes. By having a higher cell turnover, fine lines, dullness, and wrinkles are reduced. It’s great for regular one-off treatments once a course has been completed to maintain your client’s results and keep their skin looking and feeling great.

Continued improvement

Stimulating cell renewal isn’t just a good thing for people with aging skin. It can help to reduce pigmentation by increasing the rate at which pigmented cells get replaced. This stimulation can also transform congested, spot-prone skin types. Increasing cell renewal can bring congestion to the surface much quicker, smoothing and clearing the skin.
